A Hearty Eshet chayil

Rachel Held Evans says:

Eshet chayil—woman of valor— has long been a blessing of praise in the Jewish community. Husbands often sing the line from Proverbs 31 to their wives at Sabbath meals. Women cheer one another on through accomplishments in homemaking, career, education, parenting, and justice by shouting a hearty “eshet chayil!” after each milestone.  Great women of the faith, like Sarah and Ruth and Deborah, are identified as women of valor.

Please join me today on Rachel’s blog where I have the honor of sharing the story of my friend, a Woman of Valor.

To whom would you raise a hearty Eshet chayil?

If you’re new here, please read about our life without a diagnosis for my son who has a significant disability, and how it effects my marriage, and what I want others to know about my life. Feel free to enjoy this little bit of sass and this plea from my mother heart.

  1. I left a comment over there, but I wanted to come here and say it as well. Eshet Chayil! You are indeed blessed to have such a wonderful friend and she is blessed (as are all of us who know you) to have you in her life as well. You my friend, are exactly the kind of friend you describe Amanda to be. Takes one to know one, I guess. Love to you and congratulations on getting published @ RHE! :)

ECSTATIC to see this post on Rachel’s blog today. Know, too, that I raise an Eshet Chayil to YOU, Heather.

  3. Thank-you sooo much Liz and Beth!
