So there really is no rule that says waiting while your child in surgery has to be painful, I mean, generally speaking…it is. We were HOPPED!!! How fun is that? These are HOP specialists from Hole in the Wall Gang Camp who partner with the Child Life Dept to spread love and sunshine to kids who need it, or in this case, to grown ups. We made a duct tape bow tie for Dr. Hip because that’s his thing – he’s a bow tie guy. And this fabulous HOP specialist has a hottie Irish accent, so that’s always helpful.

We also had a nice long visit from one of the Yale nurses who remembered me from my presentation last fall. That class made Aidan a card. We’re feeling the love. This particular nurse is going to present Aidan’s story as a case study.
Oh, and I got a pedicure. My sister joined me today and helped me kill time. It’s not like we weren’t thinking about Aidan though. Look, we painted our toes white…for bone….get it?
So Dr. Hip just came out and said Aidan did a great job. They loosed the tendons (?) in his inner thigh because he needed it. We were told ahead of time that may be the case. He is in a soft cast which is also good news. We’ll go in to see him in about 1/2 hour when anesthesia starts the waking up process.
More later, or probably in the morning.
Thanks for all the messages today!!

All good news! Thanks for relieving my curiosity (aka anxiety) about how it was going. Thankful…..
Just found your blog today! How cool is that! Praying for a great recovery!
Glad things are looking up!
Our thoughts and prayers are with you guys. Aidan is a rock star and he is surrounded by love. I’m glad the day of waiting is finally over for the whole family.
Love you!
